If I Could Fly
By James A Huizenga
If I could fly
The birds and I
A sight to see we'd be.
I'd start the day
Go out to play
And sit up in a tree.
To friends below
I'd shout, "Hello!"
They'd not believe it's
me.
We'd pack a lunch
And fly a bunch
And not be back till
three.
The lunch we'd pack
Into a sack
Not anything that's
yucky.
We'd fly a long
And sing a song
A tune with notes so
lovely.
Fly to the park
Be back by dark
So Mother wouldn't worry.
We'd fly so high
Up in the sky
There'd be so much to see.
We'd swoop and glide
No place to hide
And then we'd yell, "Whoopee!"
If I could fly
The birds and I
How happy, we would be.
